FROM MAKEUP ARTIST TO MAKEUP MADNESS

WHY DID I LYNDA STRAIN DECIDE TO LAUNCH MY OWN LINE OF MAKEUP PRODUCTS?

3 REASONS...

  • LIFE EXPERIENCE
  • MY LOVE, PASSION & KNOWLEDGE OF ALL THINGS MAKEUP
  • THE LOVE OF MY FAMILY & FRIENDS

LIFE EXPERIENCE

I at the age of 9 took acne which started on my forehead and proceeded to cover my face over the years leaving me looking and feeling horrible. I didn’t at first pass much remarks of my pimpled skin, well not until I started secondary school and as we all know bullies will be bullies. I was the chosen one to be made fun of with a pizza even being drawn on my table in my English class, stating the words “Lynda Strain is a pizza face bitch” nice!

So needless to say my confidence was not very high. My mum took me for facials and I tried every cream going which did improve my skin but never clearing it. So what is a girl to do only cover up and yes you guessed it panstick all the way, all that lovely coloured fat on my already greasy face.   So as we all know oil on oil will glide, I had to constantly apply more which in turn spread my blemishes making my skin even worse.

I was diagnosed with Cancer at the age of 25 and going through 12 rounds of chemotherapy my skin was left pale, dehydrated, itchy, red and flaky so again I turned to makeup to help hide disguise all of the above. These are the reasons I designed Love Lynda Flawless Finish Foundation – It is water based so it will last longer on your skin it has staying power, it also contains an ingredient which I just can’t live without and this is Vitmain E. Vitamin E is both healing and repairing so for blemished prone skin this is a wonderful ingredient to help treat the skin. Love Lynda Foundation will not clog your pores and is also wonderful for even the most sensitive skins, eczema and psoriasis. Love Lynda Flawless Finish also contains Wheatgerm which is anti ageing so you will be treating your skin not just wearing a foundation!

LOVE, PASSION & KNOWLEDGE OF ALL THINGS MAKEUP

As we know I developed a passion for makeup at a very young age which led me to attend Bronwyn Conroy Beauty School in Belfast. I was very fortunate to be trained by Oonagh Boman Makeup Artist within this course, this being my first experience with makeup training, had me hooked. Oonagh is a pioneer in the makeup industry in Northern Ireland and has been for many years, and runs her own very successful School of Makeup in Belfast which I attended after leaving beauty school. I attained my Diploma’s in the Advanced Art of Makeup and also Fashion and Photographic Makeup. I opened my own beauty salon at the age of twenty which I currently run to this day and I am 37 so I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience over the years. I have always wanted more when it came to my makeup education so I went to Dublin to the LA Academy of Makeup and to London to study in the London School of Media Makeup.

Through all of my training I have been very lucky to work locally and abroad on Photoshoots for Designer Swimwear La Pearla, Northern Ireland School of Modelling, Shopping Centres, Fashion shows and specialising in Special Effects, Bridal and High Fashion Makeup and also working for various Television Productions (which was my ultimate dream) I have worked on productions with various well know celebrities such as Bob Geldof , Bono, Saoirse Ronan, Vanessa Redgrave, Liam o Maonlai (Hot House Flowers) and the stars from Irish and American Country Music.

LOVE FOR MY FAMILY & FRIENDS

So now that I had created my brand I needed a name for it and also for my products, so I decided to honour those closest to me. The ones who helped and supported me through everything and for the little ones who added so much to my life from the day you were born.   Every one of my products are named after those wonderful people young and old who mean so much to me and therefore my makeup line was named Love Lynda, Love to you all and again my Love for Makeup!
